Walking

Estimated reading time: 1 minute(s)

Walking is something that we Americans have gotten out of the habit of doing, and that’s too bad.

I just got to walk the town of Palmyra today, drumming up support, handing out flyers, putting up posters, and just in general connecting with the folks in my town. It was probably about 3 miles in all. Not very much really, but it took most of the day (probably more the miles from my mouth than on my feet…) 🙂

And it was great!

My legs have that cool, satisfying BURN and my feet have blisters but it was great! Life when you walk just goes at a different pace! A BETTER PACE.

I was walking in my sandals (which is how I got the blisters…) but I just thought… this is how God got around. In sandals (perhaps a tad better than my $7 Walmart sandals?) and just WALKING. You have time to see everything. You have time to think. You have time to smile and say hello to everyone. It’s a much more experiential journey…

And, it saves gas. That’s nice too.

So lace up your shoes, slip on your sandals, or go bare foot… just get out and experience life in the slow lane.

Put one foot in front of the other… and soon you’ll be walking out the door…

🙂
