Author: Greg

Born in the now distant land of Springfield, OH, and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, I met my future wife Jen in the 8th grade in Earth Science (she was the girl with the big hair and glasses across the room...) Now reside in Palmyra, NY after having found ourselves residing in various homes and domiciles all over the country as we traveled and sang about the Kingdom of God with our growing brood of kids in tow. I now get to design websites and other things graphical for folks around me, as well as sell Apple (Computer) products to anyone who may be interested. Life is SO Fragile

Posted on August 7th, 2004 :: 7:31 am by Greg

16 years old, strong, energetic (mostly… he is a teen-ager!) πŸ™‚ Parents who love him, a baby sister who might admit to that, family and friends. Life is full of potential and goodness, despite anything that might try to dampen that… life is good. And then it ends. Some friends of ours just lost their…

Redefining Sin

Posted on August 6th, 2004 :: 6:47 am by Greg

I was thinking again this morning on a topic that I had previously discussed with a friend of mine. We were debating what exactly “Thou Shalt Not Covet…” means. My friend, you see, has been accused of every thing under the sun in the sin category, because he has involved his heart deeply with a…

What Can Ya Do? (again)

Posted on August 4th, 2004 :: 10:43 pm by Greg

I used that title back on the day when I deleted all my email (years of email) and then totaled our van within about an hours time. You can read all about that day here: http://basicmusic.blogspot.com/2003/10/what-can-ya-do.html Lemme tell ya about today’s What Can Ya Do day… πŸ™‚ It actually started on Monday, when I got…

Whoa

Posted on August 4th, 2004 :: 8:06 am by Greg

You ever just wake up and think… whoa… how am I going to do this day? I just did. The sheer amount of what I need to do TODAY seems quite insurmountable… but I am about to begin an attempt to do so. Perhaps you are wiser than I and do not schedule several large…

Death of a Coffee House

Posted on August 3rd, 2004 :: 12:23 pm by Greg

The Phoenix Cafe has officially breathed it’s last. I can not believe the frequency with which these establishments expire. This one lasted less than a year. And the same happened with the previous owner (in the same location.) I am bummed cause it was a cool place to play here in our town (right around…

Catching Up

Posted on August 2nd, 2004 :: 12:05 pm by Greg

Well today we are trying to actually clean our house for the first time I think. πŸ™‚ For some reason, (mostly cause we are always super busy…) we clean enough to get by, but then we end up with a HUGE job like is facing us today! Should be interesting! πŸ™‚ I think I am…

Our Drain

Posted on August 1st, 2004 :: 6:45 am by Greg

I forgot to mention… last Tuesday morning (our first morning back after a busy summer of traveling…) I was going to take a shower and just noticed how nasty our bathroom was – including the bath tub from our REALLY SLOW DRAIN (that I have mentioned here several times). So, I decided to clean it….

What World Are You In?

Posted on July 31st, 2004 :: 9:22 pm by Greg

So, I mentioned before that we were watching the Democratic National Convention last week, and that my parents are Super Republicans… those things are both true. And in general, I’d say the majority of the folks we hang out with would tend toward the GOP as the GOP is the more conservative of the parties……

Contentment

Posted on July 31st, 2004 :: 12:41 pm by Greg

We were noticing the other day… there are many people who are not content in life. Most everything that comes from their mouth is negative, or just sad. Many of the politicians are this way, and those who comment on things political (talk show hosts and whatnot) Even many folks we know. Even many Christians…

Walking

Posted on July 30th, 2004 :: 3:09 pm by Greg

Walking is something that we Americans have gotten out of the habit of doing, and that’s too bad. I just got to walk the town of Palmyra today, drumming up support, handing out flyers, putting up posters, and just in general connecting with the folks in my town. It was probably about 3 miles in…
