Optical Illusions

Posted on July 2nd, 2007 :: 3:17 pm by Greg

After first-hand viewing of a cool optical illusion of the summer moon, I got this in my e-mail today from my Dad. (He likes to forward stuff… this one’s pretty cool…) 🙂 The instructions in the e-mail were as follows: If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain…

Life In The Rearview Mirror (…not the book)

Posted on June 27th, 2007 :: 12:34 am by Greg

Tonight I dug out my old journals. I was looking for any account of the story of Ian’s birth. Actually, the journals only go back to late 1999, and nothing was written even remotely close to Ian’s birthday (it was Christmas, after all!) so I had no luck there… But I did find a bit…

The Heat…

Posted on June 26th, 2007 :: 2:54 pm by Greg

I must say that even though my air conditioner has been blasting all day… my attic office is really beginning to heat up. It’s up to about 83 degrees now, and probably still climbing. That’s actually really good because the non-insulated portion of the attic seems to be at about 130!!! 🙂 What I’m a…

Two Ears, Two Eyes… One Mouth

Posted on June 25th, 2007 :: 12:21 pm by Greg

I realized today that one of the main reasons I don’t post all the articles/thoughts that I want to here at GregsHead.net is because I spend close to twice as much time reading other blogs as I do posting to my own! And not just blogs, as you can see from some of my posts,…

Weird Thing About Getting Older…

Posted on June 25th, 2007 :: 11:46 am by Greg

I have noticed recently that instead of feeling “old” as I have on many occasions now past the age of 30, I have begun to really feel quite young. Not sure if I’ve just mentally passed from youth to adulthood finally, where a 32-year-old adult is still a pretty young pup, or, maybe I’m just…

Race To The Moon

Posted on June 20th, 2007 :: 10:24 am by Greg

Last night I watched an hour-long PBS special (via Netflix) called “Race To The Moon”. It’s certainly another recommended addition to your queue. The story is just incredible. How in the world did we pull that off in the sixties… and we’re not going back till 2013 or so??? The video is about Apollo 8,…

Killer Asteroid Coming – 2029!!

Posted on June 14th, 2007 :: 12:11 pm by Greg

A friend forwarded me a link to an article he was reading this weekend. The article is from NASA, in 2004. It was determined that a rather sizeable asteroid has an orbit that intersects with Earth’s orbit, and there was a 1 in 60 chance (One article I found claimed a 1 in 40 chance!)…

Stewing

Posted on June 7th, 2007 :: 8:10 am by Greg

There’s some stuff stewing in Greg’s Head this week… perhaps a bit longer… about two different ways of approaching life. This common theme seems to be running through my head, a thread of thought that permeates many conversations, events, and other happenings. Basically it comes down to whether we attempt to control our surroundings (including…

Circles

Posted on June 1st, 2007 :: 9:35 am by Greg

I watched a few PBS shows throughout the course of the day yesterday. Some of it was just listening, as I was working while listening to the audio on my laptop. You can watch many of the NOVA episodes online. Well, I happened to choose the Monster Of The Milky Way, and then later, The…

Trust In Action

Posted on May 30th, 2007 :: 9:17 am by Greg

I’m having a difficult time right now. I know something to be true, even able to put it into very clear words in a conversation with some friends. But I’m having trouble knowing what to do next. I know God will take care of my family. I know that I am not the provider for…
