Every once in a while, I check the stats page for my blog here… and usually find some interesting things. I found an old friend, and a few more links to other friends’ websites. I see which pages (besides the main page) are viewed most (#1, #2, #3…) But perhaps the most comical (and sometimes…

Dreamers

Posted on April 18th, 2007 :: 2:07 pm by Greg

Last night I took my wife out for dinner and a movie. We had a nice sandwich at Arby’s (we rarely, if ever, go there so it was a special treat) and then we went to the “Dollar Theater” (we call it that) and watched the movie “Astronaut Farmer“. The plot is pretty simple… a…

From Virginia Tech

Posted on April 18th, 2007 :: 6:55 am by Greg

I’m sure you have heard/seen/read the news from Virginia Tech of the ugly events from yesterday. When it happened, I immediately thought of a friend who is working there with a campus ministry group. We met her at Crosswinds several years back, so now a few friends from there have updated us on how she…

Sabres Take Game Three

Posted on April 16th, 2007 :: 11:13 pm by Greg

It wasn’t easy, but they did manage to pull out the win, never trailing in the game. Quite different from game two, Buffalo scored the first (and second) goal of the game, and then added a 5-on-3 power play goal to make it 3-1, holding on for the 3-2 win. All of the scoring was…

60 Million Light Years

Posted on April 16th, 2007 :: 10:57 pm by Greg

Can someone tell me how we can actually know that something is SIXTY MILLION LIGHT YEARS away? How is that even possible to measure? After a long internet search last night, the best I came up with was something called Parallax, but isn’t it just theory?? (It’s supposedly a similar process to how surveyors measure…

Great Article About Sabres’ Center Chris Drury

Posted on April 16th, 2007 :: 10:04 am by Greg

One more hockey related item today… We read this article yesterday about Sabres’ centerman Chris Drury. It was fantastic. Well-written, and just a great story. Makes us want to root for him even more (and hope the Sabres KEEP him, since he’s a free agent at the end of this year… and that’s sort of…

Bowman Cup 2007

Posted on April 16th, 2007 :: 9:23 am by Greg

Speaking of hockey… we spent a good chunk of yesterday traveling to the HSBC Arena in Buffalo. No, we didn’t get to take in a Sabres playoff game… we watched Rochester high-school all-stars take on their counterparts from Buffalo, both juniors and seniors. FOR FREE! Free admission, Free parking. We sat about 5 rows up,…

I Love This Time Of Year!

Posted on April 16th, 2007 :: 8:54 am by Greg

I have been watching SO MUCH HOCKEY since last Wednesday when the playoffs got off to a GREAT start with a 4OT game out in Vancouver! (Unfortunately, the 4th OT was pre-empted for an infomercial… that was not good…) But it’s great! There are 3 or 4 hockey games per day!!! And it’s GREAT hockey….

Mr. Deity

Posted on April 16th, 2007 :: 8:48 am by Greg

I found this show as a recommended video podcast on iTunes, and thought the description was interesting enough to check out. (And it wasn’t labeled “Explicit”, which you have to watch for on iTunes video podcasts…) I downloaded one show, and then decided to get them all! They’re short little sketches taking a pretty funny…

Mondays

Posted on April 16th, 2007 :: 8:28 am by Greg

You know, this morning I realized that I actually kinda like Mondays. 🙂 It’s a new beginning, there’s a whole week of fun ahead… not sure exactly why, but I like the fresh start I think. I get back on my routine. It’s all good. Maybe I just had a good weekend? 🙂 No, I…
