One Trillion Seconds

Posted on March 28th, 2008 :: 1:23 pm by Greg

I heard this on the Glenn Beck show today (from… yesterday I think?) and was just pretty amazed by it. Perhaps you will be too? “A million seconds equals 12 days.A billion seconds is 32 years.A trillion seconds is 32 thousand years. 54 trillion is what medicare and social security alone are in debt.” I…

Only In Upstate New York…

Posted on March 28th, 2008 :: 6:30 am by Greg

We have three or four inches of wet snow on the ground (but of course life continues as normal… that’s nothin’!) and many seasonal ice cream places have been open for more than a week. 🙂 Oh, and just a day or two ago, when all the other snow had melted and we were reveling…

Shorties

Posted on March 27th, 2008 :: 10:55 pm by Greg

Since computer (and especially blogging) time is limited… please allow me to share some fun stories/thoughts using another list-style post… Julia just turned two, but she is the smartest cookie in the bunch sometimes. This week she has been really helpful with the laundry. I don’t always know whose clothes are whose, but she does!…

On Being Seven

Posted on March 27th, 2008 :: 10:54 pmFebruary 14th, 2013 :: 8:04 pm by Greg

It’s late, and its snowing (which is awesome!) but I wanted to post a few thoughts on expanding to a family of size seven… Yesterday we all went out for the first time in our newly expanded van (see the next bullet point) and after taking nearly and hour and a half to get ready…

The Issue Of Race

Posted on March 25th, 2008 :: 12:22 am by Greg

Wow, that title is way to broad – and official – for this particular blog post. It’s accurate, but there’s obviously too much that can be and has been said on that topic. Some friends of mine have been having a (mostly) civil discussion over Barak Obama’s recent speech on the issues of race in…

Progress Report

Posted on March 24th, 2008 :: 11:52 pm by Greg

Well, it’s been a little over a week now that we have been home from the hospital with our newest family member, and it’s even been a couple days since any of us has been sick. (Not sure which one of those bits of news is more welcome at this point…) 😉 Today was a…

No… ME!

Posted on March 22nd, 2008 :: 1:45 pm by Greg

Today Julia was not being very nice to her brothers, so Jen said, “Julia, that’s not how you’d want them to treat you. You need to treat them how you want them to treat you.” Then Jen added, “Because you love them!” Without hesitation, in a very whiny voice, Julia insisted, “No… ME!” If that’s…

Die Hard Fans

Posted on March 21st, 2008 :: 2:08 pm by Greg

Neither snow, nor sickness, nor brand new baby, nor rain and 30 degree temps could keep us from being at our favorite ice cream spot on Wednesday! Chill & Grill opened on March 19th, and though we didn’t get to take Emma there (nor did I have my traditional one-pound Monster Burger!) we did manage…

March Madness

Posted on March 21st, 2008 :: 12:31 am by Greg

I may have mentioned this in years past, but I must say… 18 March Madnesses ago, my friend Adam invited me to his house, and he invited Jen Walker. And that night, a friendship began that is still going strong, and only getting better. I sure love my Jen, and in a strange way, March…

Just When We Thought They Were Finished…

Posted on March 21st, 2008 :: 12:26 am by Greg

The Sabres continue to surprise us. This team has been very streaky in 2007-2008, and thought replete with talent, they seem to lose to teams they should not lose to. Partially that is due to an amazing season of equality in the NHL. Every team can beat any other team on any night. Pretty amazing….
