Hi folks. It’s going to be pretty busy work-wise around here this week. I’ll post to the blog when I get a chance, but I think I might mostly be doing some clean up and re-organizing. 🙂 You’ll notice the new tabs just above the main content of the pages… I thought I would take…
Goal!
Well I just finished watching the movie, “Goal! The Dream Begins” I had gotten it from the library last year around the World Cup time… but never got around to watching it. I saw the preview and thought it looked worth the watch… and had even planned on watching with my boys, who had really…
Saltwater as Fuel
This is a pretty amazing story. A guy figures out a way to kill cancer cells using radio waves… and somehow in the process also figured out he could ignite SALT WATER, to temps up to 1500º?!? Crazy. Thanks for the link, Dad. 🙂
Killer Asteroid Coming – 2029!!
A friend forwarded me a link to an article he was reading this weekend. The article is from NASA, in 2004. It was determined that a rather sizeable asteroid has an orbit that intersects with Earth’s orbit, and there was a 1 in 60 chance (One article I found claimed a 1 in 40 chance!)…
The Shack – Completed
I think I have mentioned a few times the book I was reading (and finished last night) The Shack? I know I did at least once. Well I finally finished it and though it came extremely highly recommended, it did not disappoint! I was impressed. 🙂 Usually such high praise as it received can only…
We Have Tickets… Sort Of
Speaking of “kidless excursions”… On a bit of a hunch late this afternoon, I checked out Southwest.com, to see if I could book our travel for Oct/Nov this year when we will spend 7-9 days away from our children – JUST ME AND JEN – celebrating our 10th year of marriage. (I CAN NOT WAIT!)…
FLAG DAY!
When I was a kid, I thought I had discovered Flag Day – June 14th – when I first saw it on my calendar. Every year since then (I was probably Ian’s age…) I have made a point to celebrate it in some way. We have no official plans, except a little kidless excursion in…
Interesting Coincidence
We found a neat little podcast from NASA called “Ask An Astronomer” that is definitely very cool for the kiddos. (Mom & Dad like it too!) They are little three minute answers to some big questions regarding things in the sky. Today we watched a couple: one about lunar eclipses, and one about solar eclipses….
Scary Moment for Dad—and Daughter
We went to watch Jen’s brother and family play softball last night. It’s a family event. All but our niece were there and suited up for the game. We brought our lawn chairs, and gloves and kid ball to play a little catch on the side for ourselves, and some batting practice too, of course…
Shopping List
We are really not spending any extra money at the moment. We are paying bills, buying food and other necessities, investing in our house a bit, and then just GAS to visit family and such. But no extra “toys” at the moment. It’s kinda hard… but, OK. We’re dealing with it… 🙂 IF I WERE…
