Growing Up "Right"

Posted on August 29th, 2007 :: 11:30 am by Greg

I was downstairs for a bit this morning (baking some chocolate chip cookies, actually…) and overheard Jen and the kids in the living room. They were watching the Price is Right, and I could hear things like, “That’s $92!?? No way!!” and, “Yes!!! Michael got $1.00!!!! Now [the next person] needs to get $1.00 too!”…

Blueberry Hill

Posted on August 18th, 2007 :: 10:59 pm by Greg

Isn’t there a song about blueberry hill? I know it was the name of the hill behind the main part of Mountainview Christian Camp where I have spent several weeks of several summers of my life. But tonight, though there weren’t really any noticeable hills… I’d say we visited THE blueberry hill! We’re in Clarence…

Go Bills!

Posted on August 13th, 2007 :: 12:23 am by Greg

I just noticed that it’s been three days since my last post! (Not really, but by the calendar days here, it looks like that!) That’s crazy! Didn’t really take a vacation, just been writing elsewhere. It’s Buffalo Bills season! So, in addition to my article following Friday night’s game, I’ve been spending a little time…

Not A Creature Was Stirring…

Posted on August 9th, 2007 :: 9:30 am by Greg

There is still a whole 24 hours of quiet to come. I really can’t believe it. The onslaught of this silence was so quick, so unexpected. It’s eerie… unwanted. Disturbing. And yet… glorious. šŸ˜‰ The kids are at Grandma & Grandpa’s! They have been since Tuesday evening. The will be until tomorrow, probably around lunch…

Weekend Visit

Posted on August 6th, 2007 :: 12:05 am by Greg

I am tired and sunburned, but it was a really good weekend! šŸ™‚ It began Thursday night, actually. My parents got into town (a bit later than they would have liked) and we went out for some ice cream at Chill & Grill. Nice! Actually, they ended up staying at our house and just chatting…

LifeStories: A Great Family Game

Posted on August 5th, 2007 :: 10:52 am by Greg

When my parents visited this weekend, we had a little time on Saturday afternoon where we could play a board game. Projects were done, girls were napping, kitchen was cleaned up. I happened to remember the game LifeStories. The point of the game is not competition but chances for all to share stories of meaningful…

It’s Tea Time Again

Posted on August 3rd, 2007 :: 10:49 pm by Greg

When my Mom (who is not an avid reader of GregsHead.net…) heard the story of my recent teapot neglect, she asked if I had gotten a new teapot. I had scoped out the options at Wal-Mart, but they were either more pricey than I had anticipated, or too cheap. So, as of yet, I had…

Trailer Listing

Posted on August 2nd, 2007 :: 3:44 pm by Greg

Hey folks! Don’t usually post our eBay or other such sales here, but this one is different. We have (for the first time on CraigsList) listed our awesome little “basic trailer” for immediate sale. This is both good, and sad. I spent the last half of July fixing it up again. It has been our…

The Weekend That Was, Is, And Is To Come

Posted on July 28th, 2007 :: 12:11 am by Greg

Usually I don’t tell about a busy weekend in the middle of it, but I thought I’d make an exception today. I told a friend via e-mail (actually, it was on Facebook) that this weekend was going to be packed full… and I just wanted to write it down so I could remember what a…
