Lately due to many different factors, our children have been both extra tired, and definitely extra tiresome. They have been frustrating both Jen and me in various (mostly little) ways. Silly, childish things… but whether they are “just kids” or not, they are still frustrating. And after a build up of lots of small things……
Family
Friends, and Friends of Friends
As I was working on restoring our trailer yesterday (more about that later…) I was listening to a few podcasts, including the latest God Journey. The episode title was the same as the title of this post. Wayne Jacobsen was telling the story of his recent trip to Ireland to gather with around 100 people…
The Fake God
Jen took Kirstie over to spend the night with some friends (which ended up getting canceled due to a sudden bout with tummy trouble!) and on the way over here’s how the conversation went… “God is far away,” Kirstie stated matter of factly. “Actually, he’s right here with us,” Mom replied. “God is very close.”…
Various Endeavors
There’s been a bunch of randomness this week. Things are in a “down time”, or a “lull” in the web design world, so I have been taking advantage of that by working on some other projects that I ordinarily would not be able to give time to. Some of those include: Trailer RefurbishmentWe decided to…
Julia’s Perspective
We met some new friends last night when we went to the Apple CIDER picnic (an Apple User’s Group in Rochester) on our way to the Monroe County Fair. Both of those events were quite fun, but one of our new friends had a keen observation of our youngest daughter after only knowing her for……
Interesting…
I was chatting with a friend today about some updates I am doing to his website, and in talking about our July 4th activities, we got talking about family. We’re both from the same area originally… so we were chatting a bit about our various family members, seeing if there were any connections. (He’s actually…
July 4th Adventure Week
When we were on the last leg of our return trip home last night, Jen & I were recalling the several consecutive late nights (and/or full days) we had strung together for our children. We counted three… then four… then… a WEEK. I think it goes back to our big FOOD FEST on July 1st….
A Visit To The Creation Museum
My Dad told us a while back that he’d really like to take us to that there new Creation Museum in Kentucky, put together by the folks at Answers in Genesis. We agreed, wanting to see it ourselves, and picked today as the day we would all go check it out. First, it was a…
Ice Cream Update
As you know from previous entries, July is national ice cream month, and we’ve been doing our part to celebrate that! Here’s a quick run-down on the month so far. July 1 – We made home made ice cream with friends (Philadelphia-style Vanilla, and Strawberry Sherbet) 7/2 – Made some more home made ice cream,…
Food Fest I
Yes, I know yesterday was Canada Day (I believe it is “observed” today), but I believe that July 1st may now become the official day of FOOD FEST. Some have called it Eat Fest, and yesterday I first thought it could be called GlutFest (as in “gluttonous”) but I think I have settled on FOOD…
