Subtle Difference

Posted on March 4th, 2008 :: 10:40 am by Greg

Today the boys and I read the very familiar paragraph in Matthew where Jesus says with the Ask, Seek & Knock stuff. God wants us to come to him and he wants us to know that he’s listening. And that’s amazing. But the part I noticed is something that I have also been thinking a…

Too Many Streaks

Posted on March 3rd, 2008 :: 7:44 am by Greg

This is the year of the streak for the Buffalo Sabres. Frustrating to fans, perhaps even more frustrating to the players and coaches. Just when it looks like the team is getting back to their winning ways, the Sabres seem to match a long winning streak with an equally long losing streak. The result has…

[Things That Are Weird] Gambling Aversions

Posted on March 3rd, 2008 :: 7:32 am by Greg

I know that I probably just can’t understand, since it really has no pull on me, but one more Thing That [Is] Weird to me is how much of an aversion some folks have to gambling on any level. Not just Christian, “God hates gamblers” folks. Regular folks who feel like any wagering is fruitless,…

Kirstie’s Day

Posted on February 29th, 2008 :: 6:08 pm by Greg

What a great fourth birthday for our little Kirstie! I figured it would be fun (at least for us!) to write out all the details of the big day, so here we go! Kirstie was the last of the kids to wake up yesterday, so I gathered the other three and my guitar and we…

Not A Bad Deal, Eh?

Posted on February 28th, 2008 :: 10:38 am by Greg

Sabres fans are still sad to see Soupy go west to San Jose, but the guy we got in return had a decent start… TWO GOALS and an ASSIST in his first game! (He score the first two goals!) Ha! Highlights above…

Happy 4th Birthday, Kirsten!

Posted on February 28th, 2008 :: 10:21 am by Greg

Today is our little girl’s 4th birthday. Kirstie Rae is FOUR today! The other kids and I sang her happy birthday this morning to wake her up, and then she opened a few presents (and got her birthday poster…) before heading down for breakfast. Mom has a fun scavenger hunt planned for her other presents,…

Third Party Candidates

Posted on February 26th, 2008 :: 2:44 pm by Greg

No, I am not a Ralph Nader supporter. I would not vote for him as his view of government seems to be quite different from mine. (He wants universal healthcare, less military spending, etc… which I don’t believe I am for.) But on one level, I wish I could. We saw Nader announce his candidacy…

Sabres Deal Campbell to Sharks

Posted on February 26th, 2008 :: 1:15 pm by Greg

As predicted last night, the Sabres did find a taker for their all-star (super star) defenseman. He will join the San Jose Sharks who are having a very fine season, and look to make a run at the Stanley Cup. He’ll also join former teammate Mike Greer, who joined the Sharks a couple years ago….

Puzzling

Posted on February 26th, 2008 :: 11:36 am by Greg

Create your own puzzles at PuzzleBee.com! A while ago I found a fun application on Facebook that lets you make Flash puzzles from your own photos. It works really well, and makes me wish we could make a “hard copy” of some of the cool photos we’ve taken across the country. (They’re pretty pricy, however.)…

Trade Deadlines and Free Agency

Posted on February 26th, 2008 :: 12:50 am by Greg

It’s that time of year again, in fact this year it’s one week of craziness in my two favorite sports. On the one hand, the NHL has set tomorrow at 3pm as the deadline to deal players. A couple trades have already occurred, more will come tomorrow. The NHL is pretty good at keeping things…
